I have been painting abstract and non-objective watercolors for over twenty five years, having begun under the tutelage of George Dergalis of Wayland, Massachusetts. In 1987 I moved from Concord, MA to Dallas, TX where I continued my art career, taking numerous workshops in Texas and Myrtle Beach, SC. I then moved to Scottsdale, AZ where I continued to paint. During that time, I took lessons from many different artists and workshops at Taos, NM and Pemaquid, ME. My instructors included Skip Lawrence, Don Andrews, Christopher Schnick, and many others.
I moved to Westbrook, ME in 2003 and have my own studio at Brydon Farms where I try to paint daily.
My subject work has focused primarily on abstract color and design. I get many of my impressions from nature and my extensive travel. I have done many realistic works but prefer non-realistic, free flowing color and designs. I enjoy the freedom to interpret what is around me in original and thoughtful ways. I continue to experiment with new ideas and techniques.
I am a Signature Member of the Southwestern Watercolor Society, The Northwestern Watercolor Society, The Pennsylvania Watercolor Society, and The National Association of Painters in Casein and Acrylic.
I have been juried into many national and regional shows including The New England Watercolor Society, Western Federation of Watercolor Societies, Arizona Aqueous, and The Oklahoma Watercolor Society.
I hope you enjoy your time exploring my work and please contact me with any questions or inquiries.
